A Stats Co-op helps prepare you for a career in statistics and other related areas. Co-op gives you the opportunity to work in almost all areas of science, engineering, business, government, and industry. The 16 months of paid work experience will grant you with a jump start to build your personal network and gain the professional experience you need to find you niche before graduation.

The above schedule is highly recommended by the Co-op Program in order for students to complete their program within the shortest time frame. Alternate schedule is available in consultation with your Co-op Coordinator.
- Have around B- average
- Be a full-time UBC student in good academic standing in mathematics, english and the sciences
- Demonstrate good communication skills, a responsible, mature attitude
- Demonstrate leadership, teamwork and time management
- Demonstrate interest in their chosen field
- Be flexible and willing to accept a work placement outside the Lower Mainland
The program is intended to prepare interested and qualified students in the Master of Science in Statistics for careers in statistics and involves 8 months of work placement supervised by practicing professionals. Faculty advisers also visit students at their place of work and provide advice on technical reports required of all students in the Program.
There is no citizenship status requirement.
